Wednesday 14th August saw a huge field of 112 senior golfers descend on West Middlesex Golf Club to contest the Mens and Ladies NAPGC Seniors Championship. 36 Ladies and 76 Men competed and it was great to see the immense popularity of this event.
The Ladies were the first to  out and play the very tricky West Mids Course, which required accuracy off the tee and good course management. Lin Lee from Brent Valley took the individual Stableford spoils with a very impressive 41 points. Lin and her partner Tracey Allen also triumphed in the pairs competition!
The other winners were Kim Price from Hoebridge with the Gross prize and Anne Butcher from Easthampstead, the super Senior Prize.
The mens competition was also hotly contested with John McDowell from Tilgate Forest clinching the individual stableford with 40 points, ahead of his nearest rivals on 39 points.
The overall gross prize was won by Sean Carter from Royal Epping Forest. Nigel Lipscombe and Pa O’Neill from Tilgate Forrest took the Pairs Prize and Gerson Louzado also from Tilgate Forest, taking the mens Super Senior prize.
The day would not have run so smoothly if it wasn’t for the herculean efforts of the competition organiser, Kathy Maloney! Our thanks go to her and to Stuart Cella for doing a sterling job of getting the competitors out on time. Our thanks also go to the West Middlesex team who had the course in great condition and were so welcoming to us.
