Mitchell-Thomson qualification 7, 10 and 13 July 2026
The seniors (55+) team greensomes qualification took place on in July. Teams comprised of 8 players playing as 4 pairs in greensomes stableford with the scores aggregated together to try and qualify for a place at the national final on Monday 14 September at Winter Hill.
There were four venues for qualifying, Panshanger, Stevenage, Cherwell Edge and Sherfield Oaks (Waterloo). The qualifying format has proved popular since its inception and again worked well with the added option to play on different days this year. Competition was fierce with plenty going, some big scores and rules queries for the committee to resolve. Ultimately it was Belhus Park, Farnham Park, Rose Hill and Rickmansworth who won their areas and qualified for the final.
Thanks to Deryck Walker, Anne Butcher, Jess Howard and Paul Dimmer who along with myself were the NAPGC officials active at the venues. Also thanks to all the clubs and players that took part to make this such an enjoyable event.
