Men’s Championship Qualifier – 28/29 June 2025
Following the club events, which attracted nearly 500 entries, area qualifying for the men’s championship took place over the weekend of 28/29 June 2025, with players competing for a place in the national final at Woodhall Spa on Sunday 17 June.
There were 4 area venues, Basildon, Richmond Park, Bromsgrove and The South Bucks, with 189 players competing and numbers of qualifiers from each area set proportionally in line with the entries, with just over 25% qualifying from each area.
Ground conditions were very dry and fast making it a tricky weekend, though some of the scores returned suggested otherwise.
The Best Gross scores at each venue came from; James Wright (Stevenage) at Baildon, Will Balakrishnan (Richmond) at Richmond, Steve Meacham (Cannock Park) at Bromsgrove and Paul Jones (Stevenage) at The Sth Bucks.
While on the net front; Ryan Emery (Basildon) at Baildon, Richard Smith (Richmond) at Richmond, Don Moore (Warley Woods) at Bromsgrove and William Burnett (Farnham) at The Sth Bucks.
More generally it was very pleasing from the operational side, to see qualifiers for the final coming from 22 different clubs.
