Message to NAPGC Member Clubs from the President
Dear All
It is an honour and a privilege to take on the position of President of the NAPGC. I have had great support from the Board during my first year in office.
The organisation has had great leadership from our Chairman, Neil Jennings and Secretary, Stuart Cella with the competitions being well run by Jess Howard and the team.
For the first time in many years, we have a Captain of the organisation, Paul Dimmer.
The Junior Section is well run by Richard Lansley and Gill Brash who organise the National Junior Championships. It would be great to see more clubs participating in these events.
We are planning on launching a new competition for current and past captains and vice captains. If you are interested, please contact Stuart Cella and Paul Dimmer.
I would like to thank Ann Butcher, who has recently stepped down from the Board, for her time and efforts over the past few years.
We would like to increase the Board for the future and if you have a financial background, IT or organisational skills, please get in touch with Stuart Cella.
Over the past twelve months we are continuing to make a series of improvements to our website (napgc.org.uk), with great help from Clare Jewson.
Deryck Walker has done an amazing job trying to attract new clubs.
We still receive great support from the R&A and England Golf, and we are part of Woodhall Spa Holdings along with other Counties and Associations.
The NAPGC will be celebrating its centenary in 2027, and a centenary committee will be set up to organise this event.
It would be advantageous to have an ambassador in each of the NAPGC clubs to liaise with their club organisers e.g. Local Council, Guinness Trust etc and the NAPGC Secretary. The ambassador doesn’t need to be a committee member, but just a designated middle person to ensure all communication is passed on to the relevant people. This would be a great help with communicating efficiently. Please contact Stuart Cella with the name of your ambassador.
I would like to wish everyone a successful golfing season in 2025
Patrick Cunningham
NAPGC President
